| AMAZONITE
index Amazonite is a type of Feldspar which crystallizes in the form of short prismatic crystals, tabular crystals, or masses. It is usually classified as a mineral rather than a gemstone, and is mined primarily in the Americas. It appears as a translucent pearlescent pink or apale azure, with a lustrous surface reminiscent of finely veined marble, and is sometimes found with yellow, white or grey inclusions. Besides having all the properties of Feldspar, it is a pacifying and soothing stone, and can calm the nervous system, dispelling both negative energy and irritants. It can also be used as a muscle relaxant. It benefits one by brining mental clarity and centering and harmonizing facets of one's personality. It makes accessible the energy of Universal Love and also helps one to abide and remain within it. It's energy is of the receptive variety, it's element is Earth and it's planet is Pluto, which also relates it to material wealth and success, thus it's association with luck in gambling when worn on the body. It facilitates the flow of neurological signals, and also assists the metabolic system with the absorption of minerals into the body, especially calcium. Heart and throat chakras are particularly energized and benefited by it. It assists in communicating in a loving way, and is also a balancer of male and female energies, and an aligner of etheric and astral bodies. Good for general health and when used as an elixir, or carried or worn. In folklore it is sometimes said to be the Stone of Hope, its sky like color represents faith and it's high mineral content relating to physical endurance and stamina. Another folkname for it is the Amazon Stone, which also relates to physical strength and stamina. |

Visualization is enhanced, and reception of the universes voice in communicating truths and insights into our existence and purpose. From "Crystal, Gem and Metal Magic" by Scott Cunningham: "Energy: Receptive Planet: Moon Element: Water Powers: Psychism, Peace, Courage, and Purification Magical/Ritual Lore: The aquamarine is the stone of the sea-goddesses of past times. Beads of aquamarine were found in ancient Egyptian mummy pits. Magical Uses of Aquamarine: The aquamarine, a semiprecious variety of beryl, is a pale blue-green color and so has long been associated with the sea and with the element of Water. Sea Witches cleanse the stone in ocean water at night by the light of the Full Moon. To do the same far from the coast, fill a blue vessel with water, add sea salt and let the stone sit in this mixture overnight. In magic, this beautiful stone is worn or carried to enhance the utilization of psychic powers. Holding a crystal of the stone, or wearing a faceted aquamarine around the neck reduces our conscious minds hold on the psychic mind and allows the ever-present psychic impulses to be heard and to enter our consciousness. Because the aquamarine is a cleansing and purificatory stone, it can be worn or rubbed on the body as a part of purification prior to magical acts. A large crystal can also be worn or placed in the bathtub during cleansing dips. A gentle cleansing tincture can be made by placing an aquamarine in a glass of fresh water. Let this sit in full moonlight, outdoors if possible, for three hours. Retrieve the stone and drink the liquid for purification and heightened psychic awareness. Aquamarine is used much like the amethyst in soothing and claming emotional problems. It is a stone of peace, joy and happiness, especially in relationships. Aquamarines exchanged by mates help smooth the path of their interactions, and it is a most magical appropriate gift for a bridegroom to give his bride on the day of their nuptial. Aquamarine is worn or carried as a protective amulet while sailing or flying over the water. When packing for a trip on water, whether river cruise or a journey across the Pacific Ocean, tuck an aquamarine in our suitcase to guard against storms. Fishermen and sailors have long made it their special amulet against danger. Aquamarine has also been worn to relieve the pain of toothache and to cure illness of the stomach, throat and jaw. As a charm the aquamarine is worn to encourage good health, to halt fear so as to strengthen the courage hiding behind it, and for alertness of the mind." From "Stone Power" by Dorothee Mella: "Have you ever noticed a pale blue transparent crystal that becomes more brilliant in artificial light? Once considered a sacred stone, it is called aquamarine. The Romans were the first to call it by that name, which means "water of the sea," for it was used by Roman fisherman for protection on the water and to bring about a good catch. Even the Romans physicians used it as a prescription for overeating, believing the stone helped digestion of food and reduction of body fluid retention. Because it was considered such a purifier, the Roman craftsmen made goblets of aquamarine." USED TO STIMULATE THE THROAT CHAKRA USED FOR TELEPATHY TO

****FLUORITE****HARDNESS 4****Lot E362*****The mineral fluorite, calcium fluoride, has been mined since 1842 from the underground mines and tunnels scattered throughout southern Illinois and Kentucky along the Ohio River. In the chemical industry, it is used to make hydrofluoric acid, insecticides, wood preservatives and antiseptics, aviation fuel, and Teflon. It is a natural method of fluoridating city water supplies, and of course for fluoride toothpaste. Fluorite crystals and some of the most beautiful minerals in nature, most commonly a cube |

| HELENITE Helenite is a manmade (not natural) green glass that is made from "rock dust" (not volcanic ash) taken from the vicinity of the Mt. St. Helens volcano in Washington state. The dust is fired to 2700 degrees F, forming glass, which is later faceted and used as a gemstone. This glass is sometimes called emerald obsidianite or Mount St. Helens obsidian (but it is not obsidian, which is a natural glass). Helenite is sold as a souvenir of the eruption of Mt. St. Helens on May 18, 1980. The composition of rock from Mt. St. Helens is: Rock from Mt. St. Helens is composed of: silicone 60.50%, aluminum 16.60%, iron 6.02%, calcium 5.36%, sodium 4.18%, manganese 2.59%, potassium 1.20%, titanium .90%, phosphorus .35%, magnesium .12%, strontium .06%, Beryllium .04%, copper .03%, lead .03%, zirconium .02%, chromium .02%, and zinc .02%; the remaining 0.16 percent is sulfur, chlorine, and water. |

| SILVER
SYMBOL = Ag Silver is a very resistant mineral. It does not dissolve in most solutions, and won't react to oxygen or water. Its weak point is its reaction to sulfur and sulfides, which cause it to tarnish. Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is found in the atmosphere in small quantities, and when silver is exposed to normal air it reacts to the hydrogen sulfide, causing the tarnish. Egg yolks, which contain large quantities of sulfur dioxide (SO2), as well as sulfur ores, should be kept away from silver. Several chemical coats are available to protect it from tarnish, and certain polishes remove tarnish. |
