Episode 1647 Picture
"Our world hangs like a magnificent jewel in the vastness of space.
Every one of us is a part of that jewel - a facet of that jewel. And
in the perspective of infinity, our differences are infinitesimal. We
are intimately related. May I never even pretend that we are not."
It's a beautiful day in the

 neighborhood, a beautiful day

for a neighbor,

would you be mine?

THIS IS JUST THE DAY

 explanation of the Anglican Rosary

NOURISHING THE SOUL

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THE MAD THAT YOU FEEL?

The following  suite of Anglican rosary prayers was

arranged by Joan Curry,  based on the words of

 Rev. Fred Rogers [Mr. Rogers].

 NOURISHING THE SOUL

CROSS/CRUCIFIX
It's not the honors and the prizes and the fancy outsides of life
which will ultimately nourish my soul. It's knowing that I never
have to fear the truth, that there is Someone who loves my very being.

INVITATORY BEAD
There's only one person in the world like me - and God happens to
like me just the way I am.

CRUCIFORM BEADS
In all that I do, in all of my life, I wish for the strength and the
grace to make those choices which will allow me to become the best of
whoever I am.

WEEK BEADS
* I am an important person just the way I am.
* The greatest gift I can give anyone is my honest self.
* I don't have to look like everybody else to be acceptable and to
feel acceptable.
* I am worthwhile, no matter what I am on the outside - my insides
are what matter.
* I don't ever have to do anything sensational for people to love me.
* I can make healthy decisions.
* I am special.

FINAL CRUCIFORM BEAD
I can make this day a really special day just by being myself.

INVITATORY BEAD
The greatest hope of the world lies in the heart of those who are
able to care for others.
As a human being, my job in life is to help myself and others realize
how rare and valuable each person really is.

CROSS/CRUCIFIX
Our world hangs like a magnificent jewel in the vastness of space.
Every one of us is a part of that jewel - a facet of that jewel. And
in the perspective of infinity, our differences are infinitesimal. We
are intimately related. May I never even pretend that we are not.

THIS IS JUST THE DAY
(based on the song by Fred Rogers [Mr. Rogers])

CROSS/CRUCIFIX
If you've got an hour,
Now's the time to share it.

INVITATORY BEAD
If you've got a plan,
Now's the time to try it.

CRUCIFORM BEADS
If you've got a smile,
Now's the time to show it.

WEEK BEADS
It's the day for seeing all there is to see.
It's the day for being just you, just me.

INVITATORY BEAD
If you've got a horn,
Then blow it.

CROSS/CRUCIFIX
It's the minute to begin it.
This is just the day.

IT'S YOU I LIKE
(based on the song by Fred Rogers [Mr. Rogers])

CROSS/CRUCIFIX
It's you I like,
It's not the things you wear,
It's not the way you do your hair--
But it's you I like

INVITATORY BEAD
The way you are right now,
The way down deep inside you--
Not the things that hide you.

CRUCIFORM BEADS
It's you I like--
Every part of you,
Your skin, your eyes, your feelings
Whether old or new.

WEEK BEADS
I hope that you'll remember
Even when you're feeling blue
That it's you I like,

INVITATORY BEAD
It's you yourself,
It's you, it's you I like.

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH THE MAD THAT YOU FEEL?
(based on the song by Fred Rogers [Mr. Rogers])

CROSS/CRUCIFIX
What do you do with the mad that you feel
When you feel so mad you could bite?
When the whole wide world seems oh, so wrong...
And nothing you do seems very right?

INVITATORY BEAD
What do you do? Do you punch a bag?
Do you pound some clay or some dough?
Do you round up friends for a game of tag?
Or see how fast you go?

CRUCIFORM BEADS
It's great to be able to stop
When you've planned a thing that's wrong,
And be able to do something else instead.

WEEK BEADS
I can stop when I want to
Can stop when I wish.
I can stop, stop, stop any time.

FINAL CRUCIFORM BEAD
And what a good feeling to feel like this
And know that the feeling is really mine.

INVITATORY BEAD
Know that there's something deep inside
That helps us become what we can.

CROSS/CRUCIFIX
For a girl can be someday a woman
And a boy can be someday a man.

*ANGLICAN ROSARY DESCRIPTION:

(by Joan Curry)

The Anglican Rosary is visually much the same as the standard Dominican Rosary: a loop with a tail leading to a cross.

It differs in the internal structure and number of beads. (33 beads instead of the 59 in a Dominican Rosary)

Where the Dominican Rosary has five sets of ten beads (called Decades or Aves),

the Anglican Rosary has FOUR sets of SEVEN beads, called "Week Beads".

There the Dominican Rosary has a center medallion and four dividing beads (called Paters),

the Anglican Rosary has FOUR beads, called "Cruciform" beads (because they are in the form of a cross)

Where the "tail" of the Dominican Rosary has five beads in a pattern of one-three-one (Pater, 3 Aves, Pater),

the Anglican Rosary has one bead, called the "Invitatory Bead"

The Anglican Rosary ends in some form of Cross. The first ones used a San Damiano Cross, but many now use the Celtic Cross.
